Always cracks me up when I see these old pictures and the dogs faces get blacked out.

Also, this is a family friendly forum, so I had to cover up Clyde's schlong.

I have never worn any type of tacticool clothing aside from uniform items. No 5.11, no cargo pants, no vest, etc...
That type of stuff is not for me. I can see the utility of a small shoulder pack but just don't care to lug that around.

I pretty much live in shorts and t-shirts year round. If I put pants on, it's jeans and a t-shirt and either Danner or Merrell boots. I try hard not to stand out from everyone else.
Merrell is the new go-to tacticool item. They have replaced the Larue baseball cap.
I had a neighbor swear by em, and I'd never heard of Merrell. So I texted ten random gun guys from my contacts, and the 5 guys I shoot with the most. All but one had at least one pair of Merrell, most had more than three pair.
The next Saturday I went to REI in north OKC to test drive a pair. They have a fun little obstacle course in their shoe department. I fell in love with them, (Moab 2 non waterproof low top) and I told the salesman that the only reason I wasn't buying from him is that they only stock the brown pairs. I bought a set off of Amazon walking to the truck, and I've worn them daily for almost 18 months. First pair of shoes (excluding boots) that I've ever bought that lasted over a year. They could still pass for new if I scrubbed them a bit.
Last month, Junior asked if his new school shoes could be the same Merrels in a different color.

I recently bought another pair of MOAB3 and don't like them near as much as the first two pair of MOABs I had. I may be spoiled to the Keen I've been wearing or the MOAB2 are just better fitting, IDK.

I almost want to wear my Danner RAT boots all the time. They are the most comfortable footwear I own bar none.
