You guys can fanboy all you want, does not change the fact that a lot of guys that used the early models of the M-16 hated them with a passion. You are right about one thing though, I should have said chrome lined barrels and chambers, not just barrels. Rust in the barrels was an issue in Vietnam before the chrome lining.Yeah...that's what I heard, too.

You are forgetting that I am a Vietnam era vet. While I personally did not serve in Nam (thank God) I knew a lot of men who did. I was in the service when S Vietnam fell and served with men who did fight in Vietnam. I even still have my National Defense medal to prove it. (Big woop)So a lot of guys hated them in the Viet Nam era. BFD... That was the late 60s and it ain't the same gun. It's probably time for you to update your thinking. Though I know that's incredibly hard for a lot of people. Especially when most of what you've believed has been basically a bunch of hogwash.
