That is a great fish! Congrats!

I wish the ODWC would see the potential we have for a top inland striped bass fishery, but that "Making Monsters" initiative has stolen all the focus. The majority of the fish hatchery is being used for reproduction of largemouth bass (Florida strain). Largemouth bass have a successful natural spawn every year (if weather cooperates). It is all about the money, and attracting the Bassmasters.

Oh hell, rant on brother. We understand and know and gripe about the same thing. I wished they would look more at the Striper Fishing in our state and do what you posted!! I am with you!

I wanted to head out the first time you posted that stuff.. still ain't made it there.
that river and the dirty one it runs into produce a bunch of good fish and good fishing.
Had some that you could not get to the surface....
That sure is a nice fish in that pic.

been about 14 years........gotta go again. used to fish the Lower at night with an 8 inch rattlin redfin topwater. you should have heard/seen the explosions in the dark. lotta fun.
great fish. my biggest was just a little smaller. lots of fun.

I have fished it at night as well, but we used a top water Hell Bender that we use a lot on Lake Texoma, and your right on about the LOUD splash in the dead of dark and then running off, as you know the fight is on!
