Low-E thermal windows rock. When we renovated our house a few years back I bought all new windows. Our windows all had to be custom sizes, which translates to more $$$. I searched a 4 state area (OK, MO, AR, and KS) and the best deal we found was at Anderson's lumber in Siloam Springs, AR. Anderson's beat all other quotes by a landslide. You may want to give them a ring just for comparison shopping.

I put Thermal Windows in the house I built. I liked them plenty, especially with the price of "nicer" brands. I'm a poor boy.

I have 1920 single panes in my house now. Do not recommend. LOL.

+10 on thermal windows. Installed 18 windows and 4 doors from them in 97,
had one get moisture inside of it 8 years later, they replaced it even though it
looked like it was installed wrong.

Installed 8 more in 02, with no problems.

Just some random info as an aside;

I seem to recall reading that there are really only three or four manufacturers in the country of the extrusions used for windows.

My limited understanding is the "big names" have big advertising budgets; not necessarily a better product.

General Aluminum are decent windows and a lot cheaper.

No, no they are not. General aluminum windows are absolutely the biggest pieces of **** windows available. Our house was built in 2003, we've had all of the windows replaced under warranty (10 years) due to broken seal and moisture forming between the panes, the new windows, less than 3 years old have the same problem. You can drive through my neigborhood and pick out the houses with General Aluminum windows because those are the windows that are fogged. I have actually considered contacting the neighbors and trying to organaize a lawsuit against General Aluminum. I guess that I should talk to that JB Brooks fella.
