Well I for one don't revel in his death. I think it is a shame that he died before he could have been questioned about affiliations, associates, where $$ comes from and things of that nature. The shooter had fled The state of Oregon. Portland and Oregon State Police would have had no jurisdiction in Washington state. That's why the US Marshals made the arrest.
