Going to Casa Bonita in OKC when I was a kid was a big deal. The first Mexi chain I remember in Okla was Taco Hut.
Decades ago, back in the late 60's.
Then my mind was blown when Casa Bonita opened in Tulsa back in 72(?).

My earliest recollection is El Burrito. A little tiny place here in town. I always got the chili cheese beef burrito, with rice and beans of course.El Charrito was the place that sticks out as my earliest recollection of Mexican food as a kid. This was before they sold out to El Chico.

That was way before all the fast food joints showed up here. I sure hated to see it close down.
I was just looking them up online.I want to say that El Charrito was from the 40s, maybe the first Mexican food place in OKC.
