    Seeking wisdom for teenage rifle

I’ve recent purchased a Howa mini-action in 7.62x39. I haven’t fired it yet (and never have an Howa), but it seems to be a quality rifle and I bet recoil would be manageable while being adequate for deer. I’ve hunted mainly with a .270 since I was in high school, recoil seems about the same...

Is there still any interest in the tried and true Win .270

I never thought much about them until an elderly relative of mine that I was working with in high school and college talked about the .270 a lot. He had a few, older ruger 77 and 1 in .270 and reloaded. I ran across a NOS Remington 700 DM mountain rifle in .270, and just happened to have set...

    Active shooter in Sand Springs

No, these are leftover waste that was returned from the Middle East. Some were sold to foreign governments, but many sat in south texas, of course after being refurbished (originally costing 7-800k each). Those that weren’t loaned to agencies have mostly been destroyed. These agencies can’t...

Supreme Court blocks Oklahoma from executing Richard Glossip

There were lots of things that were left out and completely ignored in that book because it didn’t fit with them being “innocent”.

How many still have your first firearm

I got some money on my 9th birthday (1989), told my parents I was buying a gun and they laughed. I snuck out of my party, went across the street to an elderly neighbor’s that I was very close to, and $20 later I returned with a Colt Frontier Scout, with the LR and magnum cylinders, western belt...

Bill introduced to allow teachers to carry in schools

It was in Ada, but probably only because they knew me and my mom worked in the school district. In the late 1990s you would still see gun racks in trucks and knew several with them behind the seats, students and teachers too. Times have changed so much.

Bill introduced to allow teachers to carry in schools

In 1992, as a 5th grader in a gifted and talented class, we had to do a presentation and demonstration. I did mine over safety and function of firearms with an sks, 870, 1873 Winchester, Remington 700, and a Colt frontier scout. I got approval ahead of time and got my mom to bring them and...

    Police Reserve Questions

I didn’t realize it was even a thing until one of my friends asked me if I wanted to ride with him. I ended up riding a lot and having to get out and help fight a few times (back then at times he was the only one in the county after 1am, luckily they’ve been able to change that). He asked me...

Want To Buy Want to buy LE Dept Marked Revolvers

Yes it does, that’s a good looking 66. I ordered it from a police supply company about five or so years ago, I called them and they said it was the last one they had, I didn’t know it was marked until it arrived.
