I won’t make a long story with this like my doe story, but here are the particulars:
Glock 40 MOS
SIG Sauer V-Crown 180 grain JHP
Same blind
Off hand shot, since my daughter had the 30-30 on the tripod
40 yard shot as he headed behind the cedar in the picture
He reared up like a horse, fell on his butt and scrambled/crawled maybe another 10-15 yards before giving up the fight.
Same performance as before; complete pass through to the other side and lodged under the skin forward of the right shoulder at the base of the neck. The bullet did separate from the jacket this time. I’ll weight the recovered parts tomorrow, but right now I’m too tired.
Not my best deer, but a trophy to me with an open sighted handgun.
We saw four deer this morning, but my daughter said the one that came to the feeder was too small. Her momma never came in to the field of fire. The other two were a small doe and a small 4 who was chasing her. Neither even slowed down on their way through...she wasn’t having any of what he was giving!
