LOL ... I've sheared sheep, but not spun the wool. I've chopped ice ... AND I can make a pretty good pie crust, if I do say so myself ...
ive never sheared sheep but i've shaved a dog and my legs ... same principle right?;-) I can make pie crust from scratch and its pretty damned tasty. Some of these things on here are just very pretentious. I don't know why the words "foster a sense of community" make me feel the way they do, Probably because "I'm a loner Dottie....a rebel".
Guess I wouldn't survive homesteading. I can't make a perfect pie crust if my life depended on it. We don't really NEED pie do we?

The chicken pot pies are pretty amazing & the pie crust is super easy. Anyone can make scrumptious pie crust without excuse now!
As far as the 121 skills... I think we did most of those growing up with just a few exceptions.

well surely you can "fry an egg in a cast iron skillet" to offset your lack of pie skills... <-- I couldn't believe that is a survival skill. really? frying an egg in a cast iron skillet? I mean holy crap what if a girl only has teflon? I guess your screwed! LOL
Hell in Oklahoma I don't even need a pan, just put it right on the sidewalk/pavement and I'm good to go. But yes I am fairly efficient at frying eggs in pans cast iron or not.
