I’ve been tasked with working up this load this weekend. I’m going to start at 38.0 grains of H4350 and work up to 40.0 in .4 grain increments. Is anyone else working on this new bullet. My load data came from Berger, so it should work.

What velocity does Berger say you'll get with 40gr of H4350 with a 24" tube? Most factory 6.5CM/260 Rem barrels are 8 twist and if you can't get around 2650fps you'll compromise the BC slightly depending on altitude/temperature. Slower speeds will compromise it further.

I just got off the phone with Berger. Here is what they told me on a 26" barrel COAL 2.800":
Start Max
H4350 36.5 @ 2408fps 40.3@ 2627fps

RL16 35.5@ 2467fps 39.5@ 2702fps

Also said to start .015 off lands at min load and work it .005 deeper (into the brass) as you go. Edit: H4350 is 99% full and the RL is 97%full.

That's good information. I'm sure 260 rem would be about the same loading. I'll loose speed with a 20" tube but I can try them in my sons Savage with a 24" barrel.

Okay, not a lot to report because my buddy who i loaded these for still hasn't put his Chronograph together. But, He did shoot the Ladder loads to 40.0 grs. of H4350 and they shot 'fine' three shot groups at 100 yards. Then without any real testing, he took them to New Mexico and shot a cow elk with that load. He says it went right through the animal and blew a great big hole in the opposite side. Meaning he did not recover the bullet with the '200+ yard' shot. This all makes for a good story but I have yet to see the results personally. All this being said, it apparently shoots good enough. Your results may vary.

Confirming your buddy shot his Cow Elk with a 6.5CM?
