And 159 more died in the Murrah Federal building bombing.
YET WE DO NOT BAN MOVING TRUCKS that helped facilitate these murders.
YET WE DO NOT BAN MOVING TRUCKS that helped facilitate these murders.
It all goes back to the argument that vehicles (heck, most non-firearms objects) were/are not designed with the intention to wound or kill.
Just playing devil's advocate here, mind you.
We should ban hands.
I don't know the stats for drunk driving, but automobile accidents account for approx 40,000 lives (give or take a couple of thousand) every year in this country, and that number has stayed much the same since the late 1950s. Nothing kills like the car, and yet it is seen as some sort of inanimate object that never gets up and goes out on its own and kills someone, unlike those evil assault rifles, which everyone knows are born killers. A man can get into a 5,000 lb SUV, accelerate that ponderous beast to 110 mph, then willfully and angrily blow through a stoplight and slam into a sub-compact car, instantly turning a family of four into a bloody mush, and the idiot media will still call it an "accident". Do you still wonder what the strongest lobbying group in DC is? Can you say, "the Road Gang"?How many children of all ages and innocent adults are killed every year by drunk drivers? Yet we haven't banned vehicles or alcohol. Maybe a breathalizer should be installed in every car, truck and motorcycle on the road? I'm sure we all know how that would go over.
