I love my .204 Ruger for varmints. It's like a laser out to almost 300 yards. I don't see the advantage of trying to cram a 22-250 into an AR15. I love my AR's but I don't see the significant performance advantage of the 22-250 over a hot .223 and if I need to step up, I have a 6.5 Grendel or .243 WSSM in the AR platform.

I think it fits into the "because ya can" catagory. Plus lasers, lights, watches and doo-dads look silly(er) hanging off bolt guns.

Well, kinda, a 22-250 is a short action cartridge the same as a .308, but, in an AR short is long. I have seen them somewhere too. I think a .250 savage would make a nice carbine round.

A .204 Ruger would be a nice AR varmint round and I read that the trajectory is almost the same as a 22-250.

The 204 is a nice AR varmint round. However the 204 needs barrel length to build speed so everyone that I seen manufacture a 204 upper makes it in a 24" heavy barrel. Not something you wanna pack around. I think a 22-250 likes the extra barrel length also. I have 22-250 bolt gun with a 20" barrel. I just load it a little hot to make up for the lost speed.
