If you can find one, Ithaca model 72, not the 49. Very smooth and reliable, made by Erma and read that Henry bought the design and using it for they're basic blue and steel model.

Can't go wrong with a lever action. I was fortunate enough to scratch the lever gun .22 itch by buying a 39A for $425.00 a few years ago before everything went crazy this last time and have never recovered from. Have always had a Winchester 9422M as well. I have a Marlin .44, a Winchester 94, .30-30, and a BLR in .243. Wish I had a couple more Brownings and perhaps a Winchester 9422, but then again one never has all the guns one wants so I figure I'm in pretty good shape.
