Maybe a better term would be Bullet Drop Compensating. It automatically adjusts your elevation as you change the magnification. They usually have raange estimating marks inside the scope that you can use to estimate your range with.

You're not talking about a First Focal Plane scope as well as a BDC or Mil-Dot scope are you?

If that's the case, then Super Sniper (SWFA's brand) just started making a FFP model and Falcon Optics (see the above post about Wonder's Optics) also makes a cheap FFP scope (the reticule stays accurate for measuring at all magnifications).
