anyone else see this new shell? Its gonna be huge! Gojira size i am telling ya! google for the details but i bet this replaces 556X45 in .mil circles.


have 3 loads. Std, barrier penetrator and subsonic.

new can is in work by aac for it.

can cut and trim 556 brass for it.

uses same bolt and mags as 556.

saami whatever is unlicensed so anyone can load it unlike 300 whisper 6.8 & 6.5

gonna be huge!!!

I'd rather have a Spectre as well. Is the .300 Blackout a commercialized and standardized .300 Whisper/.300-221 Fireball?

not really. it never had support and wasnt(?) saami rated so you were always looking at $1.5/rd. something about only approved co. could manufacture ammo. for this anyone can load it!!! i was reading over on silencertalk yesterday that they want it to cost similiar to .223!!!! thats bad ass!!!

I predict none of these rounds will ever be a commercial success. There are simply too few customers for a subsonic rifle cartridge to make the numbers work. That's too bad, because a commercially available, off the shelf subsonic rifle cartridge that worked in an AR platform would be tits. :(

You hit it on the head Jerry. Getting it to the 5.56 price point isn't possible because of the quantities required. Bulk 30 cal bullets are probably more expensive or close to the cost of loaded 5.56 ammo.
