.300 Blackout fired in a .223 barrel

Saw this on another site and it's kinda crazy. Someone accidentally stuck a .300 Blackout round in a .223 barrel and fired it. The bullet went part way down the barrel before the back of the brass blew out.

I have to wonder though, would the round actually drop in without having to hammer the forward assist to force the bcg closed?

How would a .30 caliber bullet even fit in the .223 chamber? I'm no gunsmith but I'm not sure this is possible. That's one really long bullet now, more like a small spear than a bullet.

I am guessing that the guy hammered the forward assist to force it closed pushing the bullet farther down in the case than it was supposed to be. But I was wondering the exact same thing myself.
