The AR in .308 is a fantastic weapon. FWIW, I've seen a small number of DPMS guns run in competition and practice, and all have been 100% reliable.
On a tangent... I just got back from Red Castle, where I put some rounds through the M1A I'd bought a year and a half ago, but never fired till today. It was pretty sweet

Ok, so my bro and I were talking and trying to determine if a .308 AR could be built for a reasonable price and he stumbled across a place that will deliver a new DPMS Oracle for underneath a grand. So I went for it. Really pumped to get one of these. I'll change a few little things on it (like Magpul furniture) but otherwise just have fun with it. This model has the forward assist where the Sportical does not.

Not sure if he has any more but it's worth a shot. Most sites that have DPMS .308s are out of stock though the Sportical model is easy enough to get.
