I have a good friend that has a Savage .338 that has a Really tight chamber.

Anyone know a good smith that can ream it out to specs??.

Thanks

Yes he is trying reloads....But even factory loads are very tight.
I think he ended up with a absolutely minimum chamber and would like to open it up to be able to
reload for it.
I fired 5 Hornady factory loads and bolt lift was very heavy and was unable to re chamber the fired rounds.
I know Hornady brass is very soft and that might be the problem, So Loaned him 20 rounds of new Lapua brass and
will check with him to see if that works.

What about polishing it? Would it work? Maybe there is only a small burr holding it up? Have you noticed any shiny spots or drag marks on the brass?

I think that's going to be the next step.
Don't look like there are many reamers out there!!.
Brass looks good, but really tight.
