Hello all! Below are all of my results for the 350 Legend. Please see the associated card to see the ammo type, velocity, firearm, and penetration information. Please feel free to also add any results you may have had, as this could possibly turn into a library of sorts with multiple contributors to help people pick which ammo to stock up on, and what ammo is all hype. In the case of non-factory ammunition that is tested, please bear in mind that you only use the listed load data at your own risk. Safe in my guns does not mean safe in yours. I am also open to testing any ammunition that you may have (factory or non) but if it is non-factory, I will need a breakdown of your load data/process before I pull the trigger on it. If you have an interest in that, PM me and we can discuss. If nothing else, please enjoy the results, they were certainly fun getting!

Gel data: 20% ballistic gel made from Knox unflavored gelatin (and for the money minded, great value unflavored gelatin powder also works fine), and a few drops of cinnamon oil to help keep mold down and prolong the life of the gel (plus cover the wet dog smell of the melting gel).

Also, I don’t pretend to think that this method is the best, most scientific, or even preferred method, but it felt a bit wasteful to just hold onto the data without sharing it with others. So here it is! Enjoy

Really like the results and appreciate your efforts. I'm building an 8" pistol for defense at this time. I'll be working up both subsonic and supersonic loads. Running my own gel tests would be problematic. Let me know what contribution you would need to run some tests. Since I will be loading these for an 8" barrel, they will have faster powder and be downloaded a bit. Your velocities with the 147 seems awfully high, 100s of fps faster than manual data. It will be a while before I'm up and running, the barrel is taking forever to get done.

I am actually nearly done with doing gel testing, for now at least, with only some 6.5 and a little solid copper 10/40 left.

I was also very surprised by the velocity as well. So much so that I tried three different chronos to confirm it. I’m not sure if I’ve just been “blessed” with fast barrels, or if the manual data was just an underestimation on their part. I have been tempted to try some of the subsonic stuff using very heavy cast/coated 9mm stuff, but just never went down that road since my 300BO sub loads were already developed. But the 350 is definitely a bigger hole to begin with, so with the right bullet, it would be brutal. Making the gel is actually surprisingly easy if you want to know how.

Thanks, I know how. But I drive a Fiat, so hauling gel out into the desert is not something that I'm set up to do at the moment. My 8" is a 1:10 twist and I'll be loading the 280 Maker bullets, so I really want to see how they perform. I had thought about the B.O. but for my purposes the 350 Legend will be better once it's running. Your tests put me onto the Zero bullets. Out of 8" I'll be aiming for ~2,000 fps, they should perform quite well at that speed.
Do you have a source for HSTs? I've been looking for pulled HSTs for months and haven't been able to locate any.
Thanks again.

A good resource for cheap Projos is americanreloading.com. They primarily sell pulldowns but are great and cheap. For example, I just scored a bunch of 155gr solid copper HP Barnes Tac-XP 10/40 Projos for .09 a piece delivered. The HSTs are usually sub .10 as well. Their stock changes super frequently. Also make sure and sign up for the newsletter, as they frequently have discount codes and promos going on.
