My son is looking for a good hollow point bullet to load for the DIL's .380 (Beretta 84). Must feed reliably. Is there a HP bullet out there that has pretty much the same profile as a RNFMJ? What HP bullet have you had the best luck with in .380?

Hornady FTX 90gr Critical Defense. We carry them in everything we carry. The shape of the head will load up in any feed ramp, even the steep feed ramp of the picky Kahr 380's.

Magtech 85 gr. Guardian Gold in my 380. Shot it with couple others a few years ago and got excellent expansion and a lot deeper penetration. It seemed like a hot little round compared to rem and pmc ammo that I tried.
Bought several boxes of hp loads to run through a new Kahr CT380. For accuracy the 102 gr Remingtons were the best with 90 gr Hornady second best. Feeding and penetration could be better with other loads but the Kahr handled everything except Tula steel cased.
Yep. I agree with you. I also think the Remington 88 gr hp are generally good to go as far as feeding.
Hornady Custom 380 with the XTP bullet. It's cheap so you can shoot a couple boxes to check reliability, it penetrates very well for a 380 and does expand some. I got the recommendation from Mas Ayoob.
