I mix lighter weight fast moving 165 grain +p powerball with heavy and slower 230 grain golden sabres. fast first, then heavy, and alternate back and forth.

I've got Federal 230gr Hydra-Shok JHPs and Remington 230gr Golden Sabre JHPs in my Kahr CW45.

Hoping to pick up an Smith & Wesson SW1911 someday soon to add to my .45 collection.

Good huntin' with your 4566!

Hydrashock and HST is definitely not the same thing. If I were buying, oit of my own pocket, it would be either Ranger Bonded or HST. Gold Dot is not terrible, but from the shootings I have witnessed, it is not at good as it should be.

It's been a long time since I've owned a .45 caliber pistol.

I picked up a Smith & Wesson model 4566 today! :woohoo1:

What's everybody's favorite carry load for this big bore?

This? Is it a single stack? Either way, very nice

A buddy of mine is a Seminole County deputy and he shot a BG in the throat with a 185gr Gold Dot. The BG got out of prison a few years ago. He says he'll never shoot Gold Dots again. He wrote letters to Speer and several other instructors who praised Gold Dots. He got some responses from some big names. Sheriff Jim Wilson was one of them.

I think I'll go with the Hydra-Shoks. ;)

The very one! Only mine has a blued trigger and spurred hammer.
