20mph wind in the face and 40 degrees, and my right eye still hurts from wind burn.

Reset the record with 498-27x :o

that was some awesome shooting andrei. i was observing yesterday and it was brutal just watching! that load was shooting a small fireball out of the swede but looks like the gun liked it. i signed up for next months match, so i may be picking your brain some. your buddy was shooting well with the 1903 also. what load was he running? i can't decide to go with the swede or the 1903.

1903 load is 26.5 gn of 5744 with 150gn FMJ Hornady bullet. That load works good with any 150-168 bullet.
Swede vs 1903 is toss-up ... but Swedes are 1/2 price and more likely to shoot well; as in I've never seen a bad shooting M96 which I can't say about 03s.

Nice shooting! I heard about the conditions there and it sounded challenging. Darren, just got to thinking- You will most likely need to order a taller sight (as Mo sez) and a sight pusher. I don't have the tool but wouldn't mind having one so I'd split it with you.

are you holding at POI or bottom of target? also, which is considered correct or is it just a matter of choice?

Optimally I like 6 o'clock hold. But since there are no "fine" adjustments on the sights and target perception changes with light, you take what you can get - anywhere from "i" hold to flat-tire: it's all about remembering the last sight picture and calling you shots.
