Thanks for the advice. I figured I would use the .223 load data.

Now I am not sure about using 5.56 in the mini. I did a few times and wound up with stuck cases.

There can be enough difference in case volume to raise pressures even using .223 data in 5.56 cases. The 5.56 brass is usually thicker and has less volume for powder which could give higher pressures with the same charge weight.

Pressure variations can contribute to accuracy problems.

I have heard that too but disagree with it based on my experience and own data. Check out the link: http://www.6mmbr.com/223Rem.html

With the exception of PMP, Lake City and others have very similar mass and water capacities. The variances are small.

Size of the load may not be your issue. Check the AOL case length before you load it. If the cases has been crimped it will sometimes stretch it a little to much and you will need to trim it.

I am not a SME on the mini by any stretch, so bear with me.

I assume the extraction is fine with .223 pressure ammo?
Does the stuck case have intact rims, or have they been ripped away by the extractor?
Is the bore clean?
Have you swapped between steel case and brass case ammo on that gun?

Good points also.

Ive heard that some minis are a little tight, I should have also mentioned , try it to see if it fits well.

Mine does fine, but I've never shot anything but brass through it

Now accuracy was about 1.5" high and right , over the 223 .
But it was always the same , just had to adjust for it.

My point was really through quality barrells/guns it should be fine, I wouldnt try it through inexpensive 223 only barrells/guns

I read somewhere that military surplus brass is enough thicker that it increases the pressures enough to be a concern.

I guess you would need to separate your brass and work up loads for both.

I have a friend that picks up military brass when he can, actually buys it I believe.

While he said it wouldnt be good to shoot his loads out of something like a mini14, standard 556 shouldnt be a problem, just make sure it fits well and probably not shoot a lot of it, ( I had a couple thousand rounds and no 556 gun, at the time)

He builds some pretty hot loads for hunting, he said theres no difference between that and shooting 556 out of a well built 223 gun.

In practice, there's no difference at all. Same dies, same recipes in your reloading manuals. This is just a manufactured problem that's been hanging around too long. People with small penises that don't shoot keep it alive.
