It's 45 minutes away so I'll be there,,,
If nothing else but just to smell the gun oil

I do need a nylon shoulder rig for my Bersa 9mm,,,
I think I'll drive on out there Saturday.

It was a small show but had a surprising amount of guns,,,
The only downside was I saw everything in 55 minutes,,,
And I walked every aisle and saw every table twice.

I printed the coupon so admission for me was only $6.00,,,
I don't begrudge that because the organizer needs to make money as well.

What I was amazed at was the prices being asked,,,
It seemed that every gun I handled was priced way too high,,,
The man with the largest number of handguns was totally out of line.

Normally I don't ever comment on a price,,,
I'll just walk away from the table if I think it's too high.

This man though had used guns with tags more than new ones,,,
One example was a Ruger SR22 with one mag and no box,,,
He had a $375.00 price tag hanging on that pistol.

Right now a new one from budsgunshop is $313.00,,,
I would have walked away quietly but he offered me "a real deal" at $360.00.

When I chuckled softly and said "no thanks." he seemed insulted,,,
I told him Buds price and he said I was mistaken.

I offered him a $20.00 bet (I had my laptop),,,
He declined and said $350.00 was his minimum offer.

Do these table dealers think we are stupid?

But on the other hand I chatted up some of the other sellers,,,
I had very nice conversations with a few of them.

So $6.00 for close to an hour of smelling gun oil,,,
It wasn't a wasted expedition for me.

I was very interested in one rifle I saw,,,
A re-barreled 30-40-Krag that had been nicely sporterized,,,
I had my Father's 30-40 when I was young and was getting all nostalgic over it.

So hey,,,
As long as these are close to me,,,
I'll keep on attending them for the fun of it.

Aarond,
You have been on Ok shooters tooooo long.
99.999% of oklahomans have never heard of buds and they will never "order" a gun.
They shop their local shops and gun shows. and thats probably a fair price for non-OSA'ers.
Also on the price was this guy a FFL or cash and carry? makes a bit of difference there too.

If I read this right, you put a premium on a firearm purchased from a private seller, which I'm sure some of us would do as well. But what is the value of that, I wonder?

Depending on the circumstances or type of gun and how bad you wanted it. I would say 10-20%
