I have a Browning B-78 that I acquired from a fellow member. Its been rechambered for 7mm STW. Its a tack driver with factory ammo. So if anyone has any loads they would like to share that would be great.

I love this caliber. It's truly my favorite rifle round. I get the best results with barnes tsx or ttsx in the 140 gr bullet. Tried heavier and lighter and both my stw's like that bullet best. Had good results with 150 gr nosler partitions and 140 gr nosler bt. Primer wise I get less spread in mv with fed 215 gold medal match primers vs standard fed 215's. I've had excellent results with h1000 h4831 and reloader 22 powders but at the advice of D&t on this forum I switched to IMr 7828 ssc and muzzle velocity increased in my test loads and accuracy improved as well. In both rifles. One wears a 26"barrel and the other a 28". The loads I use are only safe in my rifles but if you need data from a barnes or any other manual let me know. Congrats on joining the stw brotherhood !

itsnks for the info. I have a couple pounds of H1000 on hand right now and some Hornady 154 gr. SST's. I want to get the most velocity out of it as I can and not burn the throat out, since it's an overbore capacity cartridge.

What's the average barrel life with this cartridge, I know every barrel is different? If you know.

5-750 rounds is considered normal barrel life. I've got over 1k down my weatherby since I've owned it with zero accuracy change I'm not sure how many where put through it before I got it. My other rifle was a 7 rem mag that I got used also and had it rechambered and have around 600 rds down it. Avoiding long shot strings is what I've learned from shooting overbores. Also good thorough cleaning.

Hornady manual number 9 lists h1000 with as start charge of 70.4 gr and a maximum of 77.9 gr with published velocity of 2950-3200 on those charge weights. *with the bullet you mentioned*
