Loaded up some 9mm to try in my HK (shadowrider knows my pain with this gun and reloads).

Batch 1:

147gr J&Ks
2.8gr Titegroup
WSP primers
Various Brass

Batch 2:

124gr Montana Gold CMJs
4.0gr Titegroup
WSP primers
Various Brass

Im a little nervous about Batch 1. That is max load according to Lyman's manual, however I have bad issues with cycling with smaller loads. Batch 2 is in between Lyman's starting and max.

Wish me luck.

Dood... That 147 load sounds really anemic. The below link shows 3.2 to 3.6 with a Hornady XTP JHP.

Also I believe that's extremely close to someone else's load that we both know. Those first one's that wouldn't run?

Give them a whirl. I love those bullets. I'm still trying to zero in on my load. I might end up with a couple for that pill. It will be between 3.3 and 3.6 grains of WST. The 3.3 is just crazy soft and runs my gun great. But I'm not positive it will make minor. Still testing....

I wonder why Lyman has it so low...

They have a suggested starting of 2.4 and max of 2.8 (30,300 CUP) for Titegroup on 147gr lead. Im gonna be slightly ticked if I just made 50 rounds of "Bang, Bang, Drop Mag, Rack Slide, Bang, Drop Mag, Rack Slide, Bang, Bang."

There is a HUGE difference between jacketed bullet load data and lead bullet load data. You are on the top end of the scale with your load, but load data has gotten pretty conservative over the last few years so you ought to be just fine.

Just take it with a spoonful of salt. It sounds legit to me but I'll be honest, I've zero experience with TG. Just going from what I've read and from Hodgdon. From what I've heard TG is the way to go with jacketed, but smokes like a coal fired locomotive with lead. Rusty shoots it though and I sure can't knock his results.

Get off my lawn.
I run 3.8gr of TG under my 124s and they run great in my XD. Cronographed a little under minor, but without a doubt 4.0gr would make it. You can also try shortening the rounds a little. I loaded the MG 124s to 1.16" COL and I had to cycle the action. I then set them to 1.12" and they run like a top.

A highway near you.
My first experiment with TG and lead led me to WST.I have seen Rustys TG loads with lead and it isnt all that bad. J&K changed their lube I beleive when I tried my experiment so it may smoke less now. I do like WST now with lead.

Ok, fellers. I have shot and it was good!

The 147s I only had 1 stove pipe, so not enough feed issues to warrant a new recipe. Well, I say that. I have some WST I am going to try to replicate the same responses but with less, ahem, smoke. ;) You guys werent kidding about the smoke. I love the round though. Very soft and very accurate.

The 124s I didnt expect to have a problem with, and as expected, all cycled fine and were very accurate. I was hesitant in shooting them as I overseated by .08" (it was a mistake of looking at the wrong 124s loading data, but the load I used was fairly conservative on pressure to begin with). I checked primer seat and brass after firing and neither showed signs of overpressure.

I didnt shoot worth a crap, only had a few good runs, but my shooting buddy was able to do some nice groupings (about 400% improvement over factory ammo).

You will love the WST in regards to the smoke. Night/Day difference from watching others shoot TG w/lead.
My favorite is the 3.3 load. It runs in my M&P 9Pro 100%. It's a touch on the light side. I've got strings at 123 & 129 power factor with that load.

Edit to add: I'd stick to TG for your jacketed. All the data I've looked at seems to be excellent with jacketed bullets. Also the WST seems to "get hot quick" when you get past 130PF (at least with the 147's), so I'd stick with lead or plated for WST.

Here is my chrono data for my WST loads. All loads are with J&K bullets.

Mixed brass
WSP primer
Bulk cast lead 147FP BB @ 16 brinell sized .356 (Magma Engineering mold)
1.110" O.A.L.
CED Millineum Chrongraph
All groups are 10 shots (except for when the chrono didn't pick it up)
