Air Marshals flee Brazil

During the flight, a female passenger who appeared to be intoxicated tried to serve herself drinks by going to the plane's galley, one source said. The plane's crew asked air marshals to intervene, and two marshals approached the woman, who began struggling with them.

US and Brazil Sign Aviation Security Agreement -

"A joint statement of intent on aviation security has been signed between the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Transportation Security Administration and the Brazilian airport operator Empresa Brasileira de Infra-Estrutura Aeroportuaria to strengthen global aviation.

DHS secretary Janet Napolitano met with Brazilian Minister of Defense Nelson Jobim to reaffirm the shared commitment of both the nations.

Secretary Napolitano said "Together, the international community is forging a 21st century international aviation security framework that will make air travel safer and more secure than ever before."


Both countries will jointly work to strengthen aviation security by enhancing employee training, developing best practices in screening, equipment testing and certification and airport security standards.

Secretary Napolitano has applauded Brazil's support for the International Civil Aviation Organization's adoption of a historic declaration on aviation security."

the moment the aircraft enters brazilian airspace is under Brazil jurisdiction.
If it was an aircraft representing the US government, then, american law would be applied.

This new agreement will definitely guarantee things of this manner doesn't happen again.
