No, they are real. Bought them quite some time ago when trying to put together a collection of elements. Other shot I have encountered is bismuth. I haven't seen Depleted Uranium shot though. Round shot even of depleted uranium would not be armor piercing...the problem is expense, as well as possible barrel scoring/wrecking through heavy duty wads, and likely problems with bridging in chokes and wrecking them....but mainly, absurd expense.Possibly, I know the ATF takes a dim view of anything that could be considered armor piercing.
