Drum eats good. Had some tonight we caught in Minnesota this summer.
Years ago wife and I were on Grand lake throwing rattle traps into the rocks, only catching drum. Told her they were good to eat, but she turned up her nose saying they look like a carp.
When we brought them back to camp this summer already cleaned, called them sheepshead. Everybody enjoyed the filets. Good white flaky meat.
I am from Minnesota- (originally) concur that they are sheepshead. dont know why. lol

Yeah, when the we caught a couple, the guide called them sheepshead. A light bulb came on in my head thinking the name change would be the perfect work-around to get these past the wife to eat.
It worked!

Here's a live feed from the Belle Star Marina at Eufala; there's a guy with Live Scope in the fishing dock, haven't seen him catch anything yet.

We have two covered, heated and AC docks on Lake Ponca. It's a great place for disabled, seniors and others that don't have permission to fish elsewhere to catch a few fish.
Mainly crappie and the occasional catfish. Fish structure is positioned around the docks to attract them.
For a little bit of Oklahoma trivia, the first heated dock in the world was installed on Grand Lake.
It's still there. I've been on it to say I have but never fished it.
