A friend of mine always stocked tilapia in the clarifier of his wastewater treatment plant to eat the algae off the side walls and keep it clean. When winter arrived and the water temperature dropped below 50 degs. the fish died and he threw them in the dumpster and started over in the Spring.

Some jerk introduced tilapia into Konawa lake which is a power plant cooling water reservoir like Sooner lake.
What used to be a trophy bass lake turned into a tilapia lake.
They did a double unit shutdown in the winter about 10 years ago to drop the lake water temperature so the tilapia would die off.
They still haven’t got that lakes trophy bass population back where it used to be.
