Marlin 39... from the 1968 production ...that plate has a Quarter sized bullseye on it.. 50 shots --offhand, from 40 yards or so.

The "Chuck Norris" of squirrel guns... walk into the grove and the tree rats walk over and fall dead- they know they don't have a chance.

I have a Marlin Model 39A, and Dad has his Model 39...no A.

BTW, anyone have a rear iron sight set-up for the 39A? I need one, as mine came scoped and I want to take it back to its roots.

Have a lever, bolt, and several semi-auto .22lr. Now just need a pump.

I have a Marlin golden 39A. I love it it is one of the best firing rifles that I have ever shot. Very smooth and accurate.

Still nobody owns a 39? Eh? When I was a child I use to shoot rats off the quail feeder at 25-30 yards with the iron sights on my dad's 39. I asked him once that I wanted just that gun when he passed. I own it know and shoot it on rare occasions. It is still a tack driver. My son will receive it when I die.
