Have the Primacy MXV4's on my Lexus ES and Toyota Corolla. Great tires, I am very pleased with them. In general, tires are not something I try to save a few bucks on by going the cheaper route.

If you have a Sam's Club membership, they have $70 instant rebate on Michelin tires right now.

I ended up going with the Michelin Primacy MXV4's at Discount Tire in Norman, customer service was excellent! The guy told me it would take about 30 minutes (which i knew was code for at least 45 minutes) so i sat down and started messing with my phone 15 minutes later they're calling my name telling me my cars ready, awesome! Got a $100 visa pre paid rebate, they'll rotate the tires lifetime for free, and any other service i need for the tires are covered, only thing was he had just sold the last set of 216's to a lady in the waiting area so i went with the 225 tires. I was looking it up and it doesn't seem like there's much of a difference. Either way, tires look great and feel great plus there's a 30 day return/swap policy. A+

Thank You Fella's

Since I manage a small fleet of trucks, I have to look at overall cost per mile. Buying the best (Michelin) provides the lowest operating cost per mile. I've run the number, both on medium duty, and light duty. I've had Michelins last 100,000 miles on my Expedition, while Firestones might get 35,000.

My trucks average 80K on a set of Michelin 19.5 inch tires. The cheaper Chinese tires get 35K if I'm lucky.

My luck is different..Yes tires of different makes will change the MPG.
I could never wear out a Michelin it always had the radials come out the side walls or toss the tread before i was even close to the wear bars..Same goes for General tires..2 i will never run...oh make it 3 the duellers by bridgestone are the same way.

Dunlops were good to me as were Kelly's
But remember this..the tire you got 4 years ago will not be the tire you get today most of the time anyway...they always change it up a little bit....Except for some of the classics some of those will stay the same for 20 years.

Crap shoot i say.
Yes i am hard on tires, thank's for asking.
I used to average 60,000+ miles a year on my cars.. down to 35k now

I build tires for a living. Dunlop and Kelly tires are Goodyear. Exact same tires, but MANY different grades of tires within each brand. Same with Michelin, just a brand , but many grades within the brand. These four nrands are made right here in OKLAHOMA. Continental is made in CHINA.

For the money, comparing the exact same tire within the Goodyear, Dunlop, Kelly lines; Kelly is the better value. Talk to a dealer about how you use the car, what you expect of the tires (speed rating, mileage, wear life, load) and take make an informed decision. As stated above, his Pirelli gave awesome traction but will not last 30,000 miles. This is what they were designed for. A soft tire with AWESOME traction, soft wears out fast. A tire designed for 60,000 miles means harder rubber compound, less rolling resistance, better gas mileage. ALL tires are a compromise on some aspect, you need to decide what points are important for you.
