Anyone ever had Colt refinish a pistol?

So I picked up a nice bright polished Colt MKIV Series 80 Officers model at Wanamaker. Really nice pistol. But..there seems to be quite a bit of handling marks (scratches) on it. I was wondering what the best course of action would be. Send it to Colt and let them do whatever it is that they do...and get it back to their standards or...???? Any suggestions?

Why not try Flitz, a cotton rag, and elbow grease and see how it looks first?

I wouldn't waste the time or energy trying to maintain a high polished stainless gun. I think getting it bead blasted to a matte finish is a better option if you aren't interested in some sort of durable coating.

Those scratches look deep enough that hand applied metal polishes probably won't get them out.
