Are detergent containers ok to re-use for drinking water

I'm TNRCC wastewater certified Technician. It was what we were taught in the certification class, can't post definitive link, just what was told in certification class.

On I side note,

I would be VERY hesitant to use a container that contained pesticides. Hesitant to the point DON'T DO IT unless desperate.

Detergent left over may make you sick for a day or two, leave a bit of aftertaste, but NOT lethal. If not sure of cleanliness, rinse again or more times is not going to hurt anything.
