I'm glad that none of my teachers were armed.
Good to see this growing trend. I'd venture to bet the more this catches on the less we see school shootings. Removing the easy target was the first step to real security at schools. Gun free zones are target rich zones for criminals.

I just can't understand this mentality:
"Sherry Wommack said the program is one reason she's taking her son, an incoming eighth-grader, out of Clarksville's schools before the school year begins. Wommack said she doesn't believe teachers should make life-or-death choices involving students."
Uhm, lady ... by not allowing people to defend themselves and others (especially others that they're absolutely responsible for), you HAVE made a "life or death" choice.

The school i work at is installing locked front doors where someone has to "buzz" visitors in. Makes me feel sooooo much safer:/ Especially since that was so effective in Conn.
Saw this story on news9 FB page. It's amazing how many people think our teachers are just going to blow students away. As if there is some hurdle to that occurring now. Morons.
An armed society is a polite society.
I'd be happy to make a life or death decision regarding any student who was trying to shoot up his school.
They're already making life and death choices for your children in the curriculum they teach.
Those are worthless, but I won't say why on a public forum.
