Just get your SDA card and you should be fine. Always remember to keep the local cops on YOUR side. Oh sure, you're gonna run across the occasional pompus jackass in a uniform, who's gonna bust your chops, but just overlook him/her and go on. Hell, when I was working security for Dirtybird Casino, we had a meeting at 9am. I had just got off at 7am and didn't wanna drive home and then back, so I went to the Norman Wal-Mart to pick up a few items until the meeting started. I was still in uniform and armed while shopping. I was approached by a "manager" (he looked barely out of high school) and he asked me if I was a cop (which according to CLEET I was - just not commisioned by an agency currently) or "just" a security guard. Being the smartass that I am, I said, "as a matter of fact, yes, I'm a security OFFICER - I'm not 'guarding' anything." He then asked me where I work. I told him. He then said, "well then...uh...you would be out of your jurisdiction then, right?" I told him he was right. He then asked me if I had a legal right to be armed in HIS store. I told him, "oh...probably not." He looked at the items in my hand and advised me to proceed directly to the checkout and immediately leave the store. I went to the checkout (with him following me) and paid for my items. He told me, "sorry...just doing my job." I left and said, "no worries...go :censored: yourself." ;)
