Alright, I’m glad we have the pre-crime police out there arresting people for owning machined parts. What a great waste of resources. This article is meant as nothing more than a warning to would-be buyers that the bat feces are out there.

We may disagree with the current law, but shouldn't they be enforcing that law? We always say, " enforce the laws on the books and we won't need new laws".

Not if it's unconstitutional......which NFA 1934 absolutely is, as is the Hughes Amendment which banned the manufacture of "transferrable" machine guns in 1986!!

This begs the question - right or wrong, it's not legal to own a machine gun.

Parts to convert something into a machine gun are not the same thing.

Is possession of said parts illegal too ?

Until assembled, it's not a machine gun, it's just a collection of machined steel.

The same could be said of a receiver. But it's still a firearm in the eyes of the law.

You may wish to educate yourself on "constructive possession". I'm not a lawyer, nor did I stay in a Holiday Inn last night.

I was under the impression it was not illegal to own an auto sear, as long as it was NOT installed?
That being said ordering full auto conversion parts from China on the internet paying for them with PayPal and having them sent to your home does not seem like the smartest decision one could make....

We say it's unconstitional, however since 1934 and 1986, the Supreme Court has not ruled that it is. There does not appear to be a sufficient number of voters interested in repealing either one of these laws.

Under the NFA, parts to convert a gun into a machine gun are also machine guns themselves. So there’s no difference legally between a complete machine gun and parts to convert a gun to a machine gun. Same thing for unassembled parts that can be assembled into a machine gun.
