Auctions. Crazy.

Saw a fellow pay $225 for a "sporterized" Mosin and another pay $525 for rattle-canned Chinese SKS. Also saw a Smith 58 in so-so condition go for $850...didn't even have the factory stocks.
Filthy $100 generic .22's going for over $200. Colt Dick Special went for twice what it was worth too.

I left before they got to the no name $1,000 dollar single shot 12 gauges.

Economy must really be good for some folks. Cash to spend.

I don't know which one you went to, but, every auction I have went to firearm wise almost all of them go high. It's good to be a seller, a buyer, not so much.

Ditto. Every gun I've ever seen sell at an auction went for aboout double what it was worth. Used beater guns were bringing over full retail.

I have made some really good buys at auctions. And seen some ridiculous prices at the exact same auctions. That is what makes them so fun.

Was at 1 and an old man asked me about a good 'truck gun', he wanted a 'cheap' 12 ga. The auctioneer walks out abotu then with a like new Savage 12 ga pump. Told him there you go. he says no, it's too purty. I bought it for $80. The next gun out is a 12ga H&R single shot, looks like it has been drug down the road. The old man starts the bid at $100. Told him he could get a brand new one for $110. He bought the POS for $225. I bought 4 guns that day and spent $210.

stupid people pay stupid prices. just laugh and move on. this is a classic example of why Obama want to "share the wealth" some people just have too much money.
Look on Gunbroker. I was looking at 50 round 10/22 drums by Blackdog. their going for like $160 unbelievable.
Especially when Black Dog has them in stock for $80. which is high since they were only $50 a few months ago.

mr ed, you forgot to blame Obama for the Russian meteor. I get that you don't like him, but do you get how this sort of reach weakens your own case? I infer from what you said that it's the big O's fault that people pay stupid prices at auctions. I suspect they are all Dems. . .

Yep, Auctions are usually like that ...... I used to be a Ringman for an Auctioneer and it never ceased to amaze me as to what some folks would pay for an item. Guns have 'always' been quite high .....
