Couple of points. No one can know with certainty what they would do in that situation. Even trained or combat hardened individuals would evaluate the situation before taking action against the bad guy. We don't know what it was like in that theater nor how bad the alleged tear gas was. However I know for certain I would at least do this: For "mine and myself" I would try to retreat first but if I had no other choice I would go against him to buy time for my family and potentially others to get clear. If I was close and a struggle had already ensued you can bet I would help as this would buy time for "mine" to escape...and potentially others as well. While this seems somewhat selfish one must keep in mind that if you are in a place with a stupid DA he could make your life a living heck if your well intentioned actions backfire, so to speak. Also as I always do ... chose your seats wisely. Too close to an entry point (including exists) and you risk being the first to go but too far away you don't get a chance to get clear. At any rate "mine and myself" will not be going near any large crowds for a little bit. These things tend to happen in clusters and I don't want to have to make those kinds of decisions.
