Was gonna say, the last time I needed some lead I picked up about 40 pounds in 15 minutes at tri city gun club off the 200yd gong shooting points. Haha.

If you have one of those screen dilly bobbers you probably could fill a 5 gallon bucket in 30 minutes at a couple of the ranges.

Oh definitely. If I ever get bored and start casting my own slugs, I am thinking of doing so. But have basically unlimited lead at home (uncles were small town mechanics/tire shops guys in western Oklahoma in the 90s and early 2000s so I have god awful amounts of wheel weight lead). However, I just haven’t gotten the itch for shotgun reloading yet. So my lead casting usually gets used for “casting” (snagging and Jugline weights. Haha)

Older printing places and some places that do chemo therapy or x ray used to have lead so if you know people in that business.

C&J metals is out of business but Carl the owner would call me when he got good lead in as he did bullet casting and knew I did also.
He would trade me out some scrap or sell it to me at a very good price.

He was a great guy.

Obviously range berms are a great place to get lead for recycling into freedom seeds. What about tire stores for wheel weights, plumbers (I have heard lead was used in old shower trays) and roofing companies for lead? What other sources are out there?
Plumbers, old ones worked with lead pipes, my grandfather redid tye X-ray room in Guthrie hospital. He got sheets of lead. I inherited his lead

Ironically there is a distinction between lead smelted prior to 1945. Lead smelted prior to then is called "virgin lead." It is actually more valuable, especially in radiological fields where gamma ray spectroscopy is used or radiological dating. The pre 1945 lead is not contaminated by fallout.

a lot gun clubs used to frown on collecting lead from berms , at one point that was an income stream for the clubs I was a member of as they would reclaim it and then sell it
Shotgun fields yes. Berms are a pain in the ass for large scale collection.

True. It usually cost the owner money to remediate berms with jacketed bullets. Shooting bays, however, dedicated to Cowboy Action or Bullseye pistol shooting are a different story. They primarily use lead bullets in those sports.
