I have never heard of smobot but quickly said "Want dat!" Added to the buy soon list.

If you have the newer “Reggulator” it will not fit. It will fit the older “Daisy Wheel” cap. Or they make an aftermarket cap for it.

I had the daisy wheel cap as I had purchased a floor model. But bought their cap anyhow. You also might want a small usb charge pack to run it. A cheaper one that had power to the usb all the time. It draws very little power and mine will easily last 12-14 hour smokes only consuming less than 1/4 the battery.

$30 torch does the best job EVAR for searing. EVAR.
I'll probably try one someday. But I love, Love, LOVE that lump charcoal flavor!
I have two Green Eggs and I use a Flame Boss with them. Awesome! So much so that I about to put my two Cookshacks up for sale.
I sold my Cookshack when I bought my BGE. The only time I miss it is when I want to run two different cooks at once like for holiday family meals and such. Another BGE would solve that even better than the Cookshack but I just don't do that enough to warrant the purchase of another.

I’ve thought about buying a mini-max in the future to allow me more simultaneous options. Like finish searing while smoking. I can do quiet a bit with my ceramic grill store rig and a half moon indirect plate. But this is a limitation.
I’ve finish seared on my Webber grill using a pellet smoke generator at the same time, but it is not quite the same.

A Mini-max was exactly what I was looking at. You could use that for primarily grilling dogs, burgers, steaks and use far less lump. But they cost more than 1/2 what a Large BGE goes for! The Mini might work too and is less $$$. When I get back to work, maybe...

I like the carrier/stand on the mini enough to pay a small premium.

My cousin has a green mountain pellet smoker/grill it seems ok it does break a lot but that could just be him. I use a tec infrared for most grilling I also have one of those round Weber's and a new Braunfels grill. I've had an electric smoker for a few years it's nice for most things but I still have the home built tank for brisket and ribs.

I've got a Green Mountain Grill, a XL Big Green Egg, and a Camp Chef propane smoker that I've plumbed into the house natural gas. I use them all pretty regularly. For quick and easy grilling and for long smokes, its the Green Mountain Grill. For awesome taste and I have the time to prep/babysit, its the Big Green Egg hands down no questions asked. For doing big ole turkeys or need to do long unattended smokes, I use the gas smoker, but that's pretty rare.

If I had to choose just one and I didn't have a busy schedule, it'd be the Big Green Egg hands down.

Normally, I don't have a lot of time, so the Green Mountain Grill gets used quite frequently and with no complaints from the family.
