Bantams are great. The eggs are half the size, but they eat less than half the food of full size chickens.
Laced Wyandottes are good looking birds too.

I bought some chicks in Barcelona and Naples when I was in the Navy years ago.

Congrats!! I figured this thread would get to at least 6 or 7 before someone dropped that!!

I’ve been there, with both tractor supply and Atwoods. Where birds grew up and were obviously not even close to being the breed I was supposed to have bought.

I have since learned to study the breeds im after to help identify the chicks myself. It’s annoying spending months feeding and raising the wrong darn breed.

I’ve usually had better luck ordering specific breeds directly from hatcheries
