Give this some consideration. Join the NRA to become a countable number. I realize OSA members in general don't agree with the NRA, but I trust you also agree that the NRA has gun owners general best interest in mind in their political lobbying.
I've thought about this number thing today as a result of Alex Jones' visit with Piers Morgan. I believe Mr. Jones' heart is in the right place and his message is sound but I felt his tirade was unnecessary and I felt the the tone of his delivery actually detracts from the strength of our 2A support.
Currently there are just over 4 million NRA members. There are an estimated 80 million gun owners in the USA. The NRA is a powerful lobby force today...how strong their lobby force if they has 80 million members? My guess is there would be very little discussion by anyone about more gun control. No doubt it is wishful thinking to get all 80 million gun owners to join the NRA. There's just too many folks that don't give guns much thought that simply will not join but all of us that hunt, target shoot, shoot skeet, etc should consider joining.
What do you think

I'm a member, but donate to the, legal fund. Membership dues only go to education exc.

About 25% of membership dues go to just sending information (snail mail, email) back to members.
If you're paying non-lifer then $3.75/yr goes to the magazine.

The NRA really doesn't have a big lobbying arm, and doesn't need one. It can just email the members about a development and they will grassroots trample the bejesus out of that thing.

Rejoined the other day. Was a member for years and stopped paying. Hate to be a fair weather member but times are getting desperate! Donated too...

Wouldn't it be great if retailers or manufacturers offered a year NRA membership to new gun owners?

I donate to ILA... But can't bring myself to join NRA. I value all my rights, not just the one.

That being said... I'm probably going to so I can join my local range club:)
