Tried New Balance 4E wide at Shoe Carnival. Still a bit tight on the width. Didn't see any shoes wider than those measurements. But I did learn that New Balance does sell 5E and 6E wide when I check their website. I'll update once I find the the right shoes.

You might check out the Rose Anvil channel on YouTube. Weston (the owner of Rose Anvil, a leather goods maker) talks a lot about footwear, how they’re constructed, and so forth. He also cuts them in half so he can show you how they’re made, and he doesn’t have a problem with telling you that a shoe is junk.

To date he has cut up over $105,000 worth of footwear, including boots that go for nearly $1,000 per pair.

ETA: FWIW, Weston is a fan of wide toe boxes.

New balance are okay, I much prefer the extra wide sketchers. Ok can usually pick up 2 pair for about $105 on their buy one get one 50% off they run constantly
I am wearing Skechers now extra wide also, bought two pairs when I found them. Been lucky on stocking up and found some on clearance at Academy. Norman just got a Skechers store but the seem to be cheaper at Academy.

I have been a New Balance guy for decades. This spring I found Sketchers at Dunhams on clearance. I wish they had my size in other ones but I took the one that was available.

As to boots, custom built is way to go. Find someone who can take your measurements and build you a pair-if it didn’t look too weird and my wife would allow me I would wear my boots all the time with my cargo shorts.

I told the wife I needed to get some new ones so guess I’ll have to check out some of the Shoe Carnivals and the Sketchers stores.
