Bass Pro Shop is too damn high! I have a gift certificate from there, and still can't afford it.

I usually look for deals at the gunshows, or order online from the interwebular net.

for real though, online is your best bet just like anything else. The 10 dolla xfer that SSP offers is awsome. Walmart for plinkers. But by far the best deals are to be had by the kind folks of OSA. Gunshows are kinda lame now, not like when i was a kid. Although we may have one hell of a show coming together from one of the other members.

Even with shipping prices, the internet seems to be the cheapest if you are willing to wait a few days for your items.

Academy is usually comparable on most of their items. Especially if you're considering Bass Pro.

so if i wanted to pick up a couple hundred rounds of 5.56/.223 today and cheap walmart is my best bet? none of these surplus stores around here would be the ticket?

Wal-Mart is usually the cheapest B&M store. Academy sometimes carries cheaper 5.56/.223 though.
