I haven’t kept up with this thread, but from what I’m reading here, they’re blaming the gun and not the fact that Barney had his head up his @ss and let a kid raccoon finger his gun and pull the trigger. This sure seems like yet another case of cops covering for cops. :rolleyes2
That sums it up quite nicely.

Raccoon finger his gun! I could see a raccoon doing that so, thanks for the laugh this morning.

This surely puts to bed the debate about arming teachers, right? I mean if this could happen to a HIGHLY trained professional officer, how could a teacher or administrator EVER hope to safely carry in a school?
There are a bunch of schools here in east TX that have armed teacher and administrators, and I’ve never heard of a single issue.
I have little use for school rent a cops. My wife’s school has 3 now, and she said they spend their day hanging out in the school office flirting with the secretaries.

Is their carry gun a light mounted Sig? Break room flirting may be how to protect the kids the best.

In our town the school resource guys are city cops. Not a guarantee or anything, but at least an actual LEO. The few I know have kids in the school system (not their school), which I think is good.

I have no idea what they carry, but they all wear the whole costume including the bullet proof vest every day. They even just added a drug dog to their “department”, but it’s a 10 week old Lab pup named Waylon.🤣
