I had a truck get super hot over the weekend and blew one or both head gaskets.. Water was just dumping out of the exhaust. My pop runs a napa store and mentioned this product called blue devil.

Dump it in the radiator. Let it idle an hour. And it seals the gaskets.

Granted the older I get. The more I hate working on non custom rigs. So I tried it.

And even an old dog learns something new from time to time.

After about thirty minutes the water spraying from the exhaust stopped. And during the test drive the rest of the steam ceased from the tailpipe. I then drove it a good 30 miles up i35 and no problems.

Anyone tried this before? How does it work in the long run. I just want it to at least stay together till spring lol.

Ha! I thought you were going to ask a question about the Ringling Blue Devils. They had a great comeback in their playoff game.

That fix is iffy. It may well hold together till Spring, but if it's a vehicle you want to keep, I'd suggest fixing it now. It is possible for any sealant to impact other systems, such as the heater core. Read the instructions very carefully.

I'd trust it just about long enough to get to a repair shop. Some of those "miracle" products can cause more harm than good. There is no good repair for a head gasket short of a new head gasket
