All BOK Center events will require patrons to undergo additional security before taking their seats at the arena beginning Tuesday, officials announced.

Heightened security will include metal detectors at every entrance and new bag-size requirements, according to a news release from the arena.
Bags brought into the building must be no larger than 13 inches by 15 inches by 6 inches, according to the release.

Bags larger than those dimensions won’t be allowed in the center, and all bags and other personal items are subject to search, the release states.
The changes will take effect Tuesday and will be in place for the Tulsa Oilers hockey game, the release states. The game begins at 7:05 p.m.
The additional security procedures may increase the wait time to get into the arena. Because of this, arena doors will now open 90 minutes before most events start, according to the release.

Officials said guests should plan to arrive early.

The increased security is in line with other large event venues, including the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, according to the release.
