Brass Trimmers. . . your opinion

My father is retired. I hand him a bag of brass and recipe. He hollers when its complete.

I tried that with my son. He said "nah, I need to learn how to do it myself".

I have an RCBS trimmer, works pretty well. After I bought the Franklin Arsenal Brass prep center, I removed my RCBS from the work station and never used it again. It's badass... The trimmer works great, especially if you put use the chamfer debur head, but the Franklin has a motor instead of my hand, and I can also take out the military crimp on mil ammo.

I use a Trim It 2 for all my trimming now. It is fast and really easy to set if you are only trimming and using the 4 way cutter. I don't use the 3 in 1 cutter because it is too hard to set. The outside housing has just enough play in it to make setting the 3-way cutter near impossible to set. Also the 3-way cutter has to be adjusted through the small windows in the housing, so you have to turn the housing to find a sweet spot for adjusting the cutter. Right when you get the cutter set to the right diameter it is not at the right trim length, and you wind up changing something to adjust the trim.

However, aside from not being able use the 3-way cutter, the Trim It is really nice and consistent. I had been saving up range brass for maybe a year, and was able to trim a plum full gallon size ziploc bag of 223 brass in about an hour.

For prep after trimming I use the Lyman prep station. It works pretty good, but takes up a lot of space.

Try A GIRUAD ITS SUPER FAST CLEAN , and accurate NOT CHEAP, their case annealing machine is first rate also

bsd, are you using any specific tooling for taking out the primer pocket crimp or just what came with the Frankford unit?
