I have maybe 60 or more carburetors in my stash.
I was restacking stuff and organizing my shed to make room for a Nova.

Now i found some Carter AFB carbs that have the venturi inlets of the 600-625cfm but the throttle blades in the primary side are nearly the same diameter as the 750's
I looked up both numbers and back then the factory did not really rate all carbs by cfm.
2982S 1960 Buick 401.
3633s 1964 Buick 401. Nail heads of course.

Now researching numbers I came across a 3636s carter AFB number online.
It is a 3 barrel made for Pontiac. 939 CFM 1963 412 super duty.
Holley later rolled out their 3 barrel carb.

Holly mother of pearl I found a 1957 #2507S Buick 364" carburetor.
I think 1957 was the year for the beginning of factory cars running the Carter AFB.

And found one in the stash without the secondary air valve..I knew I had a couple of those.
Found another 2982 S also.

This 1957 Buick carb has the center divider in the primary side like the 750 carburetors but the primary venturies are smaller looking.

It also has the boosters way deep into the venturies very long boosters.
I have read about those boosters but never seen any. All these years sitting on these carbs (about35) and I have one.

Nope I have not.
Looks to be in good shape.
I do have a Holley 4 barrel with cast iron base and Rochester 4 Jet with iron base.
Had those with aluminum bases also.

Carter Side Draft, not mine though. Two rested atop each 327 cubic inch V-8 boat I worked on with my dad many years back, Ironically not a Chevy, and AMC with Buick heads! Sorry, had to post, the name "Carter Carburetors" set me off... Apparently they did make it into autos in the late 50's.
